For portraits I would use the 1.8 55 mm and the Sony G 300mm for wildlife.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Two very different uses and therefore you'll need two different focal lenghts. The 18-55 is ok for family. If I would I would get a 50mm prime for family and a 70-300 for wildlife. The 50mm is a decent all around lens. Good for portraits on an APC sensor and the other one will give you good zoom to get close ups of wildlife.
