• It should work just fine, but I would double-check with Tamron. It depends on the focusing motor. On the 5600, with it's DX sensor, the lens converts to 225-900mm!!

• I can't speak directly to the D5600, but I have both a D7100 and a D3100. The lens works well with both cameras.

• Should work ok. I suggest you set aside money to get a serious tripod. Your camera with this lens attached will give a kit weighing in at about 5 pounds. Those walks through the woods won't be as fun if you think you're gonna carry this and hand hold shots at 600mm.

• I have used it with the Nikon D 7000 and it worked beautifully. I would think it would work well for your D 5600.
