No, it is a DVD player, not blu-ray player. Bestbuy does sell a blu-ray portable player.

It does not have blu-ray capability, however the quality of picture is much much better than the previous portable dvd we purchased which was a portable blu-ray DVD player. This one also plays music cds and different modes of sound. We are happy with our purchase.
