this is the second one i bought and I'm not having any problems.

When my old laptop stopped charging I wasn't sure if it was the charger or my laptops connection. I took it to Geek Squad and checked for me on the spot for free! They confirmed it was the charger and recommended the Targus charger to me. May want to give Geek Squad a chance... Good luck.
