Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this with my new 17" Laptop. Yes it is USB-2.0 hub, and is located on the back edge. I have had a Razer Naga Chroma Gaming Mouse, a BD/DVD-rw Drive (2 ports, one for com, one for power), and a Razer Deathstalker Ultimate Gaming Keyboard (all shown in recommended products for clarity) plugged into it all at the same time, with it connected to a USB-2.0 port on my laptop and it handled every device perfectly without fails/errors. While gaming using the Mouse and Keyboard, I was burning a video onto a DVD for video backup. So if your question involves the quality of USB-2.0 functionality, then this will work wonders. I know some USB-2.0 4-port hubs don't work this well. However if you are looking to expand USB-3.0 ports, this may not work for you.
