• Ya it sucks... take it back. Mine the fans work but doesn't cool anything.

• Well it might be that you got a defective product. Could also be the laptop needs to be charged cause the cooling unit only works if their is power going to the device you have it connected to.

• There could be a short in the wiring or the fan itself could be just stuck. If 1 of the fans is at least running, you should be still ok. "OR" The USB port on your ThinkPad may not be working.
