The single USB port on my Surface Pro is on the right side, toward the top, of the screen/monitor when the Surface Pro is open. Because of the short connecting cord on my Targus 4-port hub (about 4") it "hangs" along the side of the Surface Pro. I have no problem plugging and unplugging accessories into it. If it were on the keyboard, or the bottom portion of the Surface Pro and on the right side, the hub ports, without any accessories plugged in, would probably face straight up because it is a flat cord connecting to the PC. However, once you plug something into the hub, it will turn forward or backward, depending on where you place your accessory. If it's just a flash drive, turn it whichever direction you want...should work fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I flip it over to use on any side.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Basically yes.... but be aware!! **WARNING NOTE** It appears that 2nd half of people answering this question may possibly be referring to the Targus ACH119US (3 ports in front & 1 in back) while the item shown above is the ACH114US (with 4 USB ports in hub front). Amongst other differences, the 114 is USB 2.0 vs. USB 3.0 of 119 model. The ACH114 is self-powered via attachment to your computer's USB port. The 119 model requires external power source via AC adapter. Agree with other reviewers... Best Buy does appear to have intermingled the 2 products somewhat online, or at least muddied the waters, so be careful what you are ordering.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you plug it in on the left side, 3 face to the front and 1 to the rear on the one I have. However, if you wish for them to have 3 face rear and 1 to the front, you can easily just flip it over. You can also have the 3 face to the side. the cable that connects into the computer is flexible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, however the cable is flexible and not a problem. There is also one port on the back side. 4 ports in all 3 on one side 1 on the other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the device and normally connect it on the right of my Chromebook. The connecting port cord has one port on the same side and three ports on the other. It's not so much backward as it just depends on how you decide to configure your external devices.
