• Yes you will need a power source for the docking station but will no longer need the cord for your computer as the docking station will power your computer.

• You do not need a power source. If you do have a USB-C power input available, the dock will pass the power supply on through its own USB-C connector to the computer it is connected to. However, this is not required for normal operation of the dock.
