The opening does allow for the flash. The new iPad Pro 9.7 has a raised lens on the camera so the opening is slightly beveled to help the flash.

Regarding the volume keys - that's absurd for several reasons. If they weren't placed correctly, you'd have issues with the volume control regardless, but that said you still wouldn't need to take it our of the case to adjust the volume. There are volume keys ON THE KEYBOARD, as well as the software-based control you can access by simply swiping up from the bottom of the screen.

Please try again later.I have the Ipad Air which is what the case said it was made for (although I don't remember if the packaging said I pad pro) It looks like to me because the way that the opening is cut triangularly that the flash would work fine, however I cannot confirm as I do not have an Ipad Pro.
