Yes there is raincoverin the base from the strap side. Ther are better pictures of this feature at the manufacturers website. I have not used this feature yet... hold on! I just checked it. Well it is NOT attached. Think of it as a backpack size shower cap. This is good because you can hang it out to dry. If you are not careful the ones that are attached,they can mold if not dried appropriately. they can be a drag to dry. Just try not to loose it.
