No need for a sound bar with this television.

You don't need a soundbar, however you may find that your experience is improved with a soundbar. The normal down firing speakers are perfectly adequate, with excellent clarity and good volume. Speech is clear and understandable. You could be fine with just the internal speakers. A soundbar would add some depth to your listening experience. I am using a Roku Streambar with my tv and the difference is noticeable. The internal speakers lack some bottom end sound so the soundbar would add depth.
