“My current tv and directv box has both the ryw & the coax between them, & I want to use this tv as a remote to my current tv and directv box; Do I only need the ryw between them, or do I also need the coax. Line of sight w/my remote ctrl is ok”

You would only need to connect one, either through the composite (RYW) or the coax, not both. Additionally, for best picture, we would recommend upgrading your cable box to work with an HDMI cord. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
