“I want a TV to connect to my Direct TV receiver in my shop....I don't need all the apps...Like Hulu and all the other junk....Just a TV for my shop...I currently have a Vizio Tv and it is absolutely junk...Wants me to subscribe to all that other crap.”

I just purchased mine today and had a problem with that at first. Once my direcTv receiver reset itself, I switched HDMI ports. There are 3 on this TV. I initially had the HDMI cord plugged into number 1. I switched to number 2 and the TV picked up the signal. Now I have DirecTv plus all of the other channels that are available. I hope this helps.

This includes connecting to the Internet via WiFi, creating a Roku account (completely free), and activating the TV (completely free). However, if you just want to use this TV as a traditional TV by connecting external devices through the various inputs and not use the smart features, you can elect to not connect this TV to the Internet at startup.
