“I bought an AV IN adapter HDE brand for my analog audio/video output vcr and plugged it in to my TCL tv AV IN adapter port but no signal and no picture/sound on the tv. Can you tell me why? If this thing doesn't work I will have to return this tv.”

You have to use an AV input cable adapter, 3.5mm jack on one end to plug into the TV with AV jacks at the other end to plug your device cables into. Had to order mine online, one didn't come with the TV. Don't plug the 3.5mm adapter all the way in to the TV jack, it has to be in only far enough for the contact stripe to connect inside the TV jack or it won't work. On mine the video connector was the red audio jack and not the yellow, plugging yellow into yellow and white/red into white/red you'll get audio hum and no picture. White cable to white jack, yellow video cable to red jack, red audio cable to yellow jack and it works perfectly!
