I bought a Roku TV set made by TCL. I spent days searching for a STANDARD remote control, which must include numbers 0 through 9, that would function on a Roku TV set. I determined it's impossible to obtain one. The designers of Roku were not intelligent enough to allow numbers 0 through 9 to work on their products. I gave the TV set away for free because I considered it to be worthless. With 21 TV sets in my home ranging in quality from 8 to 9.9, there was simply no way I would allow a quality of 1.2 to be amongst the rest. I will not have such inferior products in my household and I will not subject myself to the torment of having a remote control with less than 40 buttons on it. Maybe if we force the Roku engineers to use car stereos with only 7 buttons on them, instead of over 40 buttons (including preset stations), they will come to understand the importance and the ease of use that goes along with having over 40 buttons on a remote control.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I returned a Roku tv for this reason. We primarily watch antenna tv and I want to be able to input the channel I want to watch with the remote keypad like it's always been. Plenty of people are switching over to free broadcast tv instead of paying streaming, satellite or cable bills. Why not put some numbers on the darn thing for us old school folks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use a cable box or antenna with our TVs. Currently, our smart TVs do not support the direct input of channel numbers. However, if your TV is connected to the Internet, you can press the left arrow key to populate a channel guide and navigate channels this way. Additionally, you can enable "favorites" for over the air channels so that your most watched channels will automatically appear towards the top. To enable favorites you would go to Home>Settings>TV inputs>Antenna TV>Favorite Channels>Enable. If using a cable box, you would simply use your cable box remote to control it. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
