“I don't have an internet connection where the TV is set up. Must I have one to connect my DVD player to the TV? if not, then how is it done. I have tried and failed to connect it.”

the TV need internet to activate and setup the roku account. after setup done you can use the tv without internet. It connect with WIFI or ethernet cable
