Totally depends on your area and your antenna. The advantage of this TV is to allow you to view both streaming channels through the internet and broadcast channels over the air. We got this for my Dad in a nursing home. He has it connected to the internet with the facilities WiFi, as well as bringing in local channels with a small flat antenna hung on the wall. In our small town 30 miles south of San Antonio we pull in about a dozen over-the-air channels (although not all of them are worth watching!). He mostly watches old detective TV dramas available on free streaming channels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This TCL TV has a coaxial located on the back of the TV near the other inputs. By connecting an antenna you can receive over-the-air channels. However, the reception depends on the signal strength. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
