Hello Perplexed, All three models you listed are currently being sold in 2019 however the 43S525 is new for 2019 followed by the 43S425. The 43S517 started into production last year but was still manufactured in 2019. The number after the letter "S" is the series so we are really looking at the differences between the 4 and 5 series. All the TVs you listed are 4K Ultra High Definition so they all have great screens but in most areas the new 5 series, 43S525 offers a few advantages. It offers Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, Natural Motion 240, and an additional HDMI port. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Gary, part of the confusion may be that although larger 5-Series models have four HDMI inputs, the 43S525 only has three (same as the 43S517, the 2018 5-Series model which I have, and the 43S425 which is the 2019 4-Series model). I'm not sure what you mean by "4K cable", but all inputs on these sets accept 4K in all HDR formats the TV supports (HDR10 for all three, Dolby Vision for the two 5-Series models, HLG for the 43S525), i.e., HDMI 2.0a with HDCP 2.2; I have an Xfinity X1 4K box (mostly upscaled but it does output 4K @ 60Hz) connected to my 43S517 along with a Sony UBP-X700 (4K HDR10 or Dolby Vision, usually 24Hz but can do 60Hz). The only difference between the three HDMI inputs is only HDMI3 on all three sets supports ARC to send TV sound to an AVR or soundbar. (None of the sets support eARC.)
