• It depends on the connection you are using. If using Optical, the TV speakers will not automatically be diabled. However, you can manually disable them in the settings. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

• I have a soundbar connected to the TV and it indeed does stop the sound from the built in speakers by default. You may be able to activate them at the same time but the soundbar sounds much better.
