“I have an xfinity cable box (HDMI) and a Bose sound bar (Optical input). I know that they units will work with the TV, but will the ROKU remote take the place of the other remotes, or do I need a remote to control each item?”

You’ll need your xfinity remote for sure. Maybe your sound bar too.

Please try again later.I’ve encountered problems with using other remotes to control a Bose sound bar Couldn’t get it to work right, and was always coming on when I didn’t want to use it. I’d just use the Bose controller. We don’t use the Bose sound bar all the time, just for movies etc, so it’s not a problem.

However, our TVs are compatible with most Universal and cable remotes. Many Universal and cable box remotes can be programmed to control certain features on the TV.
