Sweet TV
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this TV for a week now, hooked up my Onkyo 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos System and everything is awesome from picture to sound, colors are not overpowering like some other TV's even set to Vivid the colors are crisp and facial colors an tone are the best I have seen on any of the current mid-range TV's....I am very pleased with this TV, easy to set up and if you have to adjust the color it's very simple...when your way Hong something just hit the astrict button on your remote and there are a lot of picture, color and some audio settings you can change or adjust...I've seen about 6 TVs in the last 6 weeks and the TCL beats them all.. If your looking for a nice TV with awesome picture you need to check this TCL out.

Great TV for the money with a few caveats
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great TV with a couple of minor issues that keep me from giving it 5 stars. 1. The screen doesn't handle reflections well, so you'll want to keep this in mind when placing it near a light source. 2. There is a vignetting effect that is noticeable on light backgrounds, especially if you're within 6-8 feet of the screen. 3. If you plan on gaming, keep in mind that it only has a 60Hz refresh rate. 4. Keep in mind that it uses a VA panel, so the viewing angles are limited in comparison to more expensive OLED or IPS sets. On the plus side, Roku TV has a bigger selection of available apps than any other smart TV with the exception of Android TV based ones like Sony. My old LG didn't have Sling TV or Apple TV+ but Roku does. The contrast ratio is incredible, the colors are rich and 4k material is incredibly detailed. All in all a great buy for the money.

Great intro into 4k so far so good
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tv about two weeks ago was a little nervous as I usually go with samsung. My samsung is about 9years old. I wanted a 4K tv and The price was right on this one so i went ahead a purchased it. I have had to play with the settings here and there due to motion blur and also the dreaded soap opera effect. 4K content looks great the fact that it has Dolby Vision is pretty sweet. I don't have cable so we use it mostly streaming netflix and hulu have been working great with a nice picture. The reason for the 4 stars is because a day after my return window closed i was walking by the tv and noticed to black spots in the left corner. The good news they are only noticeable when u are up close, Although i now know they are there. This tv is in the bedroom so it wont be getting used as much as the main tv in the LR.I am glad i did a warranty on this tv since there seems to be already two pixels burnt out.

Excellent TV for gaming/streaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was quick, maybe 25 minutes from opening box to ready for use. Video quality is great, I tweaked the visual settings for a brighter look (default is darker) but that is up to personal preference and room light. Sound is fine, I don't own a sound bar so to me it sounds like any other TV I've had. Roku interface is amazing. Bery fast and easy to use with tons of apps. I mainly use it to play on my Xbox One X, and everything looks crisp and games play great.

Time Will Tell
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m new to the TCL brand, having owned Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, and Insignia in the past. I’m nervous about longevity of their machines. With that said, this TV only has a few comparable models (M-Series Quantum by Vizio & Hisense H9F) in this price range. The latter is sold out and no longer produced, I believe, and the former is pretty identical. I’d prefer the Vizio, but stock wasn’t immediately available. So far, I love the Roku OS. It’s just simple. I can lose the AppleTV now. I haven’t noticed much difference between 4K and 1080p content. This is my first 4K TV though. It does show some motion blur, so the response time is pretty disappointing, but I’ll get used to it. Gaming though, is gorgeous. Unit doesn’t run as hot as my Samsung did. I’ll update as I play with the settings. One bummer though; a nick at the top of the TV under the static cover. It passed QA and was packaged with this blemish.

Fantastic 4K TV for the price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is at or near the top of several “Best 4K TVs Under $1,000” lists, so I figured it was the one for me. For reference, this TV replaced a 10-year-old 55” LG edge-lit LCD TV, so I was likely to be impressed with pretty much any 4K TV. The first thing I noticed was the brightness. Yes, the image is razor-sharp, but the brightness is phenomenal. We’re only using Netflix, Hulu TV, and Amazon for content, and we’ll also plug in the Switch from time to time, so I can’t speak to upscaling capabilities or anything like that. One other pleasant surprise was the sound quality. So much better than our last TV!! This being a Roku TV is really convenient, too. The other two TVs in our house run on the Roku platform, as well, so it’s familiar to us (plus, you can use the Roku app on your phone as a remote, in case you misplace the remote). Please do your own research to make sure this TV is right for you. In short, if your budget for a 4K TV is under $1,000, I think you’ll be very satisfied with this one.

Amazing picture
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I finally tried a TCL. I must say I am impressed. The picture is so vivid and clear no matter which setting I have it on. Including Movie, Standard and Low Power. Which is the setting I am using. The ROKU interface is so much better than Sony/Samsung/Apple. Wow! Color me impressed. I actually had to deny access to my calendar when I was looking to schedule a new tv series. I only denied it because I haven’t set up my VPN for the tv, yet. Time will tell if this budget set lives up to its expectations. So far, so good.

Excellent Value TV with Excellent Picture Quality
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a very good value TV and could not settle for OLED TVs for the prohibitively high prices. This QLED TV answers that need. No need to pay thousands of dollars for a high contrast TV through local contrast of dimming or turning off QLED arrays that are dark in the scene. The TV does have a little light spill from the light, but nothing noticeable. The only time this technology is not that great is viewing stars where points of light are way too small. Which is the inherent downside of QLED vs OLED. Besides, the TV itself has excellent colors and a very wide color gamut. Test it with dolby vision tests and you'll be surprised at how well the picture quality of the tv is. This is a very capable HDR TV and you won't be disappointed with the amount of value you're getting.

Q: QuestionWhat is the outer width of the feet of the series 6 55" tv? I'm afraid it won't fit on my 42" stand if the legs are way out at the edges.
Asked by tomar.
- A:Answer For this 55 inch TCL Roku TV, the feet spacing to fit on a stand is 48.3 inches. This TV is also compatible with most mounts that support a 200mm x 200mm VESA mount pattern. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

Q: QuestionI see you have a TCL Model 55R625 in sale for $549.99. Walmart has a model 55R615 for $399.99. Please tell me why I would spend so much more? What are the benefits of your model?
Asked by BadBackBill.
- A:Answer The 55R615 is our previous years 6-Series, while the 55R625 is the most recent model version of the 6-Series. The new 6-Series builds on the features of the previous year’s model. Both of these models feature a 4K UHD resolution, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, Wide Color Gamut with NBP Photon technology, CCZ technology, a brushed metal cabinet, and have a Roku operating system. Q: QuestionHow well does it up-scale SD content? I like to watch some older tv shows from the 70s and 80s sometimes. I am not expecting perfection, but will it look good?
Asked by Gojira.
- A:Answer The picture quality looked the same as my 2011 Sony LCD but I initially saw some jutter. I went to Advanced Picture Settings and turned off Action Smoothing and turned on Game Mode and the jutter seems to have disappeared and it looks like my old Sony. There ate probably better settings but I’m still learning the tv. I uploaded a screenshot of The Waltons.

Q: QuestionI don't really care about the Roku portion of the TV, I have cable. This TV works with that, correct?
Asked by Cable.
- A:Answer Yes, this TV has the input for cable, but why would you pay for cable when about 80% of what IS on cable, is either FREE or much cheaper to stream ??
Answered by BooBalla
Q: QuestionDoes this have vertical banding issues like in the previous model?
Asked by BeatleBeam.
- A:Answer The unit that I received didn't have any banding. Just very mild vignetting in the corners that's really not even noticeable.

Q: QuestionWill the tcl 55r625 tv fit on a 4 ft desk? Thanks
Asked by Kason.
- A:Answer It will fit on a 4ft desk if you buy a TV stand for it. Amazon has some good ones that are less than 30 dollars. Just type in universal tv stands.... we bought a swivel tv stand to go with this tv.

Q: QuestionI purchased a Westinghouse 58” 4K UHD but not impressed whatsoever and thinking of this TCL 55” QLED ...I imagine a much better choice ? I guess you get what you pay for. Is this tv worth it ?
Asked by Satchmo.
- A:Answer I just bought this TV for Christmas and I absolutely love it. I already had a series 4 prior to this purchase that is not great audio wise, but everything else was what I needed for the price. This series of TCL is so much better that I didn’t need a sound bar. The picture is perfect and the TCL works great with an antenna. It also has its own built in DVR for pausing, rewinding, and fast-forwarding Live TV as long as you attach USB jump drive to the port. Also, it has built in Roku system that has all the smart apps that I need that I don’t have to buy another streaming device to use with it. I love everything about this TV that I am going to be buying another one in a few months.
