I'm about 95% sure that the real actual refresh rate is 60hz maybe 75hz because when I plug my laptop into it and check the display properties it shows "75hz" in refresh rate. I have another tv that shows the same thing but is actually only 60hz, not sure why this happens, could be something with the gpu in my laptop being AMD. The "CMI" is the "Clear Motion Index" which is the "perceived" refresh rate achieved by adjusting the flickering of the backlight. I think the "Natural Motion 240" is an increased backlight-only refresh to change how the eye perceives fast moving video content. The TCL 55S515 has two options, that the smaller 43" and 49" models DO NOT, in the Picture Settings menu called "Natural Cinema" and something like "Fast Motion" to manually adjust the backlight speed. One removes motion blur from fast moving content and the other removes the "judder" from 24p content such as most DVDs and BluRays.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This TCL Roku TV uses a combination of advanced signal processing and back light scanning to enhance the native refresh rate of the LCD panel (60Hz) and present an effective refresh rate of 120Hz CMI with a Natural Motion of 240. This is why you see different specs listed – but the result is a smooth, blur free image, perfect for fast moving sports or video games. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
