“Can I turn the TV on and OFF with my Apple TV remote, and only see the Apple TVOS home screen. Or will I be forced to exit a Google TV homes screen using the TCL remote?”

The TV did support CEC functionality. If your Apple TV device supports this, then it should work on the TV. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
