We have DirecTV (instead of cable) and once you set your TV to the correct HDMI port your cable is connected to, it comes up on the main screen. You must also have your cable box turned on. Yes, we get Amazon Prime and utube. You just have to set them up by entering your sign in/passwords.

You will have an antenna/cable menu option on the Home Screen if channels are found and you choose to keep that menu item on the Home Screen. Yes, YouTube and Amazon Prime video are both available in the Roku channel store.
