I purchased the 65R615 from my local Best Buy just a few weeks ago. I then purchased the Roku® Enhanced Voice Remote with TV power and volume buttons model # RC193 online direct from Roku. The remote works perfectly with this TV and controls all functions using RF, and not IR as the remote did which was included with the 65R615. Voice commands also work very well. This remote (RC193) is definitely an upgrade from the remote included with the tv and is the one that should have been provided in the first place by Best Buy.

It works perfectly, just as one other person reported. Roku says it doesn't, but it DOES! All you need to buy if an RC193 (currently out of stock at Roku) and you'll essentially have a 617, as the remote in the ONLY difference between the two models. I am SO sick of being lied to by manufacturers! The 615 is an excellent TV, with one exception. In order to have full control of all its picture controls, you must have a cell phone and link it to your TV via your computer's router. This is SO STUPID! I don't know what engineer came up with this idea, or what exec approved it, but they should both be fired, Consumer Reports has an excellent review on the 615 which points this issue out. I had a Visio P55-F1 prior to the TLC 65R615. It was also a good TV, but its inputs began to fail after only two days. I returned in and bought the larger 615 instead. Each TV its own advantages and disadvantages, but I wasn't willing to take a second chance with Visio.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you look at various sites around the internet, you will easily find that people are successfully using their 2017 TV remotes as well as ROKU ultra remotes for this tv. Although it appears to come with a IR remote, the Bluetooth remote WILL also work based in my extensive research of user reviews on OTHER sites.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TCL Roku TVs are specifically designed to be used with the TCL Roku remote that comes with it. However, you can download the free Roku app on your smart phone or tablet to use with your TCL Roku TV. By using the app you can use voice search, voice control, and experience private listening. In addition, you will also gain access to more settings and Smart features. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Let me correct an error. My apologies. The 615 at best buy ONLY supports IR remote. Only The 617 available elsewhere does supports IR or RF. The 617 seems to be the superior model for the remote. What the 615 (bbuy) gives you is a 240hz tru motion index whereas the 617 (other places) gives 120hz tru motion. We have been going back and forth on which one to buy. Finally, by Nov 2018 Bbuy FINALLY has some units to SEE on display. (only took 10 months?). After hands on with the 615, viewing the 240 tru motion side by side with a TCL 405 65" unit, we didn't feel that the 240 tru motion made that big of a difference, so we're going to go for the upgraded remote model. We were finally able to verify in-store that the 615 does not even have an option to pair the RF remote, so you are indeed stuck with the IR remote and no way to add voice command or headphones-on-remote to the 615 unit.
