All 6 series are designed to operate in the same performance envelope, but the newer R655 adds 144Hz VRR gaming and updated cosmetics. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

The Google one also has 2x 2.1 HDMI ports so if you are into gaming and have a newer console, such as the PS5, then get ready for some faster rates. The TCL with Google, is awesome and it's integrated with the Google family. The remote has dedicated buttons for YouTube and Netflix, but also you can just say "Hey Google" to search and stream what you want. I will say, if you don't have cable and use an OTA antenna, selecting "Live" brings up live tv in a grid like way. If you also want that Roku experience, get the TCL Soundbar with Roku built in and you can have the best of both worlds. But the TLC Series 6 mini led tvs are awesome and the picture is amazing. Dave while you can before the price goes back up. I hope this helps.

The only difference is the new model shows low definition dvds better then the 646. But if your DVD player has upscaling, then it doesn’t matter anyway.
