I get sound from all the speakers and subwoofer on mine. Further, to the best of my knowledge there is no audio option to manually turn the upper or lower speaker and/or the subwoofer. If you purchased a Geek Squad service plan with the TV, a call to them would be my first recommendation. Otherwise, I would contact TCL and Best Buy because it sounds as though you may have an audio electronics problem with your specific unit. Hope you are able to get this issue resolved.
