“Should I be concerned with the picture quality and performance playback when watching 1080p movies online? Will it try to upscale? What about YouTube TV and Netflix as these are the apps we use the most? Im just trying to understand any limitations.”

All 4K displays have to upscale 1080p as they cannot display anything else natively. Most reviews I've seen online say this TV is decent at upscaling. All of the standard streaming apps work upscale as well but Netflix has a decent amount of 4K content.
