“I have a TCL 2016 Roku TV; the app-based programs - like Netflix, Hulu, Britbox - max out to 100 volume and are still difficult to hear. Will a sound bar like this help any, or is the TV too old a model [like me]?”

I believe this will help you I had a similar problem my tv volume was really high (the tv stock speakers just were not enough) and adding this definitely makes everything louder but also much more clear. Also a added benefit of a sound bar is the sound is actually directed towards you making the sound much better and more full
