I have the same question. It’s a shame because it sounds so much better in movie mode but if someone else turns on the TV, and it defaults back to TV they think the volume isn’t working. The rest of the soundbar is great but it’s a fatal flaw. I hope they can correct it via an update.

TCL, please address this with a firmware update. It annoys me enough that I might end up returning my 75" TCL 6 Series TV and this sound bar.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just got the 2.9 update two days ago. Have the alto 9+ connected to a 2020 6 series tv, and an Apple TV. This update somehow killed the CEC now. Apple TV will show a black screen and the only way to fix it is to unplug, and replug in the Apple TV. So I had to turn off CEC just to be able to watch the Apple TV now.
