These newer smart TV's seem to classify these external audio devices as Inputs. Makes no sense to me either but it should be connected to the HDMI eARC. My other bar has both "in and out" and it's the HDMI Out is what's connected to my eARC on my Roku TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HDMI ARC/eARC nomenclature is confusing because it's usually based on the regular A/V flow from AVR/soundbar to TV, even for eARC-only soundbars like this that support ONLY audio from the TV via the return channel. Though its HDMI jack is labeled as "out" (hence the spec), it's actually an audio INPUT; it's designed to connect to the "ARC In" or "eARC In" jack on your TV (whether TCL or another brand) to receive audio from the TV via the return channel. Like nearly all eARC-only soundbars, it does NOT output audio OR video thru its "HDMI out".
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This soundbar is compatible with most TVs and monitors and can be connected via HDMI eARC, Optical, AUX, or Bluetooth. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support
