• No. This is an audio recorder. If you want to record tv shows you need to rent or buy a dvr.

• This recorder will not record video. It's an audio recorder only. What you need is a stand-alone DVD recorder, such as the one I've added below. When selecting a DVD recorder, be aware that not all of them have a built-in tuner for recording off the air or cable, etc. Be sure the machine will let you do what you want before you purchase. • Barbra- You can only record CDs on this machine & only MUSIC CDRs, NOT Computer CDRs. Must have the small emblem "DIGITAL AUDIO" on them. A great machine. I have a Panasonic DVD RECORDER which does a great job recording TV or making DVD dubs from my camcorder.
