No. The Technics SL-1210GR does not come with a cartridge. You have to purchase a cartridge of your choice. It also does not have a built in phono preamp. It’s the Technics SL-1500C, which comes with an Ortofon 2m red cartridge and a built in phono preamp.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It does not come with a phono cartridge but it does come with a head shell to mount a cartridge on. There are many to choose from including some that include both the cartridge and head shell. Some have mounted phono cartridges that cost as much as or even far exceed the cost of the TT; the SL1210GR is that good. Has even been compared to TT’s that are not just ten times but even a hundred times more expensive.
