It has to be installed on a window. However, the reception still sucks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It is not supposed to be mounted behind/on your TV. For the best results, it should be mounted on a window or outside wall, facing the direction of the strongest signal(s). It comes with a really long cable for this very purpose.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have mounted mine approximately 7 feet away from the tv against a window. As long as the antenna is near a good signal it doesnt need to be close to the tv. I have the cord high up on hooks where it is not conspicuous.but
