This charger uses a new product from Tesla called the "magic dock", which is appearing on select V4 Superchargers rolling out now. Depending on how you "press in" the handle while pulling it out, it either releases from the holder with just NACS OR with the J1772 adapter locked and connected to it. So it is one cable with both connectors depending on how you choose to release the handle. Very fluid and convenient.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One cable with NACS and also a J1772 adapter that stores inside the charging unit. The J1772 can be released from the charging unit by pressing a button on the top of the handle WHILE the connector is docked in the unit. Once you remove the J1772 from the charger it cant be removed from the charging wand. You can also just pull the charging cable from the unit without pressing the button to just get the NACS charger from the unit. These are the same units for destination chargers at hotels. They dont want people stealing the J1772 adapters.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One cord but 2 connectors. If you charge a Tesla, only the NACS connector comes out. If you charge other cars, the J1772 connector that’s attached to the NACS comes out without you needing to attach it separately. Tesla calls it a Magic Dock.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1 cord with both an NACS and J1772 connector
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It looks to be a NACS cable (aka Tesla cable) with a J1772 adapter built into the wall unit -- looks like a great design idea, and very similar to the approach Tesla is taking with enabling their huge network of superchargers to be able to charge CCS based cars and trucks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has one cord. The J1772 adaptor is built-in and locked in place so it won't fall out of the charger housing. The unit needs to be energized in order for the adapter to be released. Pretty cool stuff
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. One cord with a Tesla connector + J1772 adapter. You can see the adapter nested in the unit in the picture showing the unit with the Tesla connector draped over the top of the unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.not exactly LOL
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Tesla charger will do the EXACT same thing for $475
