The audio is good on the older movies and limited to the time and they were made, but nothing that takes away from enjoying the movies. If you have an A/V receiver with different sound modes, just keep changing the mode till it sounds better for you for that movie. The newer ones have superb sound. I'm very satisfied with these movies and I'm one that expects the best picture and sound form any video source. You just have to consider when the movie was made. The picture is the same with regard to age of each film, some have a lot of film grain at times, and they would have had that in the theater when they were originally released, but all are sharp and clear. I wouldn't let any quality concerns stop you from buying the set, the price to get them all is a bargain.
