• Yes you would need to know how to read. If not, you would get lost in the story line and wont be able to complete the game.

• Yes, there is a lot of reading and fighting monsters in the game, also puzzle solving so I'm not too sure a 5 year old could understand.

• Unfortunately yes. THere is a lot of character interactions that are done as text that tell you where to go next.

• Yes, some reading is desired. Hints are provided through dialogue and signs - none of it is voice acted. Can certainly play without reading comprehension but may get stuck more easily and require your assistance. Zelda games are typically less forgiving than something like a Mario series game - its not always obvious what to do without a hint.

• In order to progress in the game, yes. If you have the time to spend with your son to read it with him or help him to read it would make it a nice time to spend together.

• Yes mam/sir If your kid is to young to read or can’t read It is probably best not to buy them rpg style games . Buy them racing games or fighting games Mortal kombat is great

• No, I always just skip past the words that are spoken by other characters as long as they can push a button they will be fine.
