BestBuy releases things like this in waves. Unfortunately, after the first wave is public, every scalper in the universe knows it's happening and you'll never get past them because they use clicking scripts that can add to cart and check out in milliseconds. I spent 4 hours last night constantly refreshing, had it in my cart at least 4 times with all my info pre-saved and checking out in less than 10 seconds, and every time it was removed from my cart because it sold out. Why these sites make no attempt to prevent scalping is beyond me. No excuse for it in 2023.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've just been petty and am reporting the scalpers on eBay for breaking ToS. eBay has a policy stating that presale items have to ship within 30 days of purchase. Listing Practices > Inappropriate Seller Terms > Presale
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nintendo is a trade marked item they can't sale on ebay they made me angry so much I'm reporting them . They are gonna have a crappy day when they realize they can't resale this item get the item # and report to ebay about trademark they will look at it and they will take it down that way hopefully this won't happen again
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They are sold out. Best Buy let’s people buy an unlimited amount of “limited edition” stuff. These companies enable scalping, and the idiots who pay for it on eBay are the reason why.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to add it to my cart last night but it wouldnt let me check out, then it said sold out. Then it just says coming soon. So yes, scalpers got it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree with what another person said. There's no good reason to not have some sort of pre-order cap on things in 2023, especially when smaller sites do have caps. Fangamer, when I pre-ordered Undertale for the switch, it had a cap of 5 copies per person and I don't think it ever ran out or if it did, it wasn't the SECOND the pre-order went live. Yes it wouldn't completely stop the scammers but it would slow them down and give us all a better chance. Just attached to the name, credit card number, address, a combination of things then block that person from getting more than the cap, there's so many ways such programs would work and make it SO much harder for scammers to take them all. But then truth its, I feel at least, a scalpers money if just as green as a honest customers. I hope one day BestBuy may prove themselves but considering as far as I can tell there's still no such order caps, I don't think it'll happen unless someone makes it stink about it and forces there hand.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ebay exclusive I guess.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.easy answer: Best buy supports bots easy answer to the bot problem: Best buy could let total tech members pre-order the first couple waves. Conspiracy: Best buy does not want to stop the bot problem, Best buy makes almost nothing selling games online or in store, so they make a bot problem (they make the bots or hire them) and resell the games through "third parties"
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It says coming soon which means theyll restock in waves until the next one. They did open preorders once so far so thats where the scalpers got it
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Getting this item online at retail pricing is very low probability without a scalping program to compete with the hundreds of people who will buy out stock to flip elsewhere online. Best Buy does not care because their inventory sells out in VERY short order and they cannot charge more for the product. Places with online user marketplaces with Walmart, Amazon etc. are actually INCENTIVIZED to encourage this behavior since they get the initial sale AND a portion of the upsell. It is unfortunate, but the reality of limited run items with high demand. The real solution would be for Nintendo to sell through their website where your Nintendo account ID is needed and is limited to 1 per account. But let's be real, Nintendo does not care about the user experience for things like this, it is all about unit sales. Good luck out there.
