I'll make this answer a general PSA since so many people are asking this: I've been watching this collector's edition closely since it was announced, as so far as I can tell no retailer has been officially given the green light to open pre-orders. Any ebay listing you've seen so far is preliminary in nature to bait people into spending double price in the hopes that they'll be able to nab a copy when in reality no one has these available yet. The 20 second spans of time we see it here as available are most likely due to BestBuy updating the page and the pre-order button inadvertently being made active before it's supposed to. Technological errors happen, case-in-point my wife and I went to a store to buy a dvd, and on both the shelf AND at the register it came up erroneously as $60,696. It took them 2 hours to fix the issue before we could purchase the movie for its correct price. At least we got a good laugh out of it with the employees. The main lesson is: more likely than not this has not been made available yet (Nintendo's official site doesn't even have a listing yet), so just keep your eye on it for now and be patient if you can, and try to resist the urge to resort to the scourge of scalpers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The person below me is incorrect. It has indeed been available for preorder both here and on GameStop. I’ve seen several people on the HotStock app excited they finally got one quick enough here or on GS. It isn’t a technical error. Best Buy releases these things in waves, and unfortunately scalpers have scripts enabled that automatically purchase these limited releases the second a new wave appears, within milliseconds, making it incredibly difficult for the average consumer to purchase, even with an app like HotStock, which warns you of restocks.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. When I went to GameStop earlier to ask and make my pre order physically they told me that it was up on their website for 10minutes and was sold out in that time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the hot stock app and tried it a few times immediately after getting the notification, I get put in line, and am told it's out of stock. I'm literally clicking the link within 1 second of the updated stock and I'm still too slow.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The GameStop in my town, did an 11pm release of TotK the night before and had recieved 8 Collector's editions that sold out in the first 10 minutes. This is a gamestop in a relatively rural community in south central IL. I am quite sure that all GameStops got at least that many on top of pre-orders, now whether the stores allowed people to reserve copies they might have gotten less. The reason why people asking a week ago were told not to expect any was because the stores had no idea how many they would get and likely did not want to make people think that they would be guaranteed to get one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I agree. I have an order with Walmart, my friends have it for Bestbuy and gamestop already.
