• I’m not sure about the original version, but I can say that the unit does get quite loud.

• Much much quieter that’s one of the main reasons I purchased this one.

• Yes the G3 is much quieter then G2 or the G3 Pro.

• It is much quieter. Still loud but not annoyingly so.

• The noise level is the most noticeable improvement over the previous versions, besides the obvious design/appearance. I've heard the 3 next to a 2 and its a big difference. Probably at least 40% quieter between the two. The vibration hasn't been an issue for me (I have a 3, non pro btw). I ask my 5 year old to use it on my back when my wife isn't around and he has no trouble with it.
