As I'm sure you're aware, the factory-installed thermal paste tends to dry out over time, and if you've moved/separated the heat sink from your CPU you will _not_ get good thermal transmission unless you replace the paste. I won't say that TG-7 is the highest-performing thermal paste (only because I haven't checked the latest ratings in a while) but it's definitely fine for a laptop running at normal clock rates. If you're a crazy overclocker, you're probably going to want to get something more exotic, but for the rest of us TG-7 gets the job done fine.
