• Hello Jas, If you have wired the device correctly the Dash Cam will say "Parking Recording will now start" once the ignition has been turned off (Approximately 20 seconds later).

• I defer this question to Best Buy. I purchased the Thinkware dashcam for my granddaughters. I have not used this dashcam myself. The granddaughters wanted a unit that took both front and rear recordings.
