Hello There, The F200 Dash Cam does not require you to connect each use. When connected to the Dash Cams WiFi and are using the Mobile App, the dash cam is not recording footage until disconnected. Ensure you are not driving connected to the Dash Cam and connect only to change settings, view videos and such. Kind Regards, Thinkware Customer Support

You only need to connect to WiFi to view any of the recordings or make changes to your equipments settings via your smartphone.
