It sounds to me like your professional installer didn't double check his work. There are two cables (red and yellow) on the hardwire kit, one that goes to battery (or always on) power and another that is supposed to go to the accessory (only when the car is on) power. There was an issue with some hardwire kits that were sold were they were labelled incorrectly, resulting in issues like what you're describing. You may need to have them switched around.
