Hello! Regarding this, no need to turn on the screen for the dash camera to record. Once you start your car and hear the voice prompt like "continuous recording will now start" that is the indication that the dash camera is starting to record. There is an LCD off timer on the dash cam settings, you can disable it or set it your desire off timer.
