Well yes and no. Within the app you would put forth word to the "Tile Community" that your stuff is missing. If it's actually been stolen and headed off to some remote place it's *possible* that another Tile user could encounter it and you would be notified. But--guess what--no higher authority is going to go looking for your stuff for you based on a report from the Tile Community. You're on your own. If you're lucky you might at least learn whether your luggage is still located back at the airport you took off from, that might be helpful information you could provide to the airline as they try to locate your stuff.
