Yes it can. These are also water resistant so if dog gets wet they'll be ok. It will show dogs location on map and if they're not too far you'll also hear a loud tune.

I put one on each of my dogs. No they do not work very good on a dog collar. I would check it every now and then, but they stopped making any response sound after a couple of weeks.

Not really effective for use on a pet. It's not a GPS tracker. Signal is good for about 200 feet, and you have to be able to hear the Tile ring. If you can't hear it ring, the app will tell you the last location where the Tile was connected to your phone.

It depends on the size of your dog. I think it might be a little too big and heavy to hang from my small dogs collar. He’s 8 lbs. Also if your dog was running I’m not sure how fast the app map would update its location. I’ve never tracked a moving object. The dog would have to be within range of a tile to be pinged. I also don’t know if you’d hear the ringtone loud enough if it was several houses away running through the neighborhood (I have street noise and trains) but you’d hear him if he was around the corner of a house or on the other side of a fence or row of trees. Or if your dog hides from you inside your house it would help you find it for sure.
