“Would tiles work for tracking remotely? When my elderly parent doesn't answer the phone for several hours, could I locate them if they had a tile in their pocket? They live an hour away - just just wondering if distance was an issue.”

Not sure about an hour away but it should be able hopefully to locate it within a radius of 10 miles

I set it to ring and a minute later, my wife is calling to say, "I see you left your wallet at home..." I think it would be a cheap fix for the info you would like to have.

Please try again later.The tile needs to be close to someone else running the app, but with that in mind lots of people also have the app so chances are good that if they are moving around they will ping on someone else, even if they don't have their own phone. In face I put a tile on each one of my dogs collars just incase the kids leave a gate open.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You may have "This Tile is not in range." message but it accurately, for me, has shown to display on a map the last known location. Go to that location and find your tile. They would as you described need to have the Tile on them though.
