Hi There, The light inside the Toshiba - 1.5 Cu. Ft. Convection Countertop Microwave with Sensor Cooking automatically turns on when you set the timer and it greatly helps so you can regularly check on your food as it is cooking. However, for the turntable, there's no way for us to stop it from rotating since there's a rotating motor that drives the stirring blades under the flatbed, which distributes the waves evenly to heat the food.
