“How long is the oven's power cord and does the oven come with a detailed owner's manual? When used in convection oven mode does the oven smoke a lot? I plan to put this oven on a counter where there's no venta-hood overhead which is why I'm asking.”

Power cord is about 2ft.. It does come with a pretty detailed instruction manuel. No smoke with convection oven. We do have on counter in our basement bar. We've used convention for baked potatoes, and pizza. Works very well

Please try again later.The power cord is about 45in long and it does come with a pretty detailed manual that explains how to use the microwave, the convection oven, and combination mode. When used in convection mode the unit heats up, and feels pretty warm to the touch like the outside of a warmed oven. I don't recommend putting anything directly on top of it while it's in that mode. However I haven't had it smoke but I've only heated up frozen dinners and frozen hot wings in that mode.

I just cooked a full prime rib dinner w the convection oven at full blast (425 degrees) for several hours. No smoke. Outside of oven gets quite warm, but not super hot. Good place to put dishes/serving platters to warm them up. I find the included manual quite good, especially for these days when you so often get very poorly-translated crap that's virtually useless. And you'll want to keep the manual handy in the beginning because this oven has lots of features, many of which aren't intuitive or obvious by just looking at the control panel.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The power cord is about 3 feet long. Manual is about 25 pages but covers what you need to know. The convection function smoked a little the first time it was used because the internal elements burned for the first time.....no smoke after that. We had the Sears version of this unit for over 5 years in the same spot as this Toshiba and never had a hood.
